Benefits of Nutritional Supplements

By Jack On March 30, 2009 No Comments

For many years, people have been talking about and taking nutritional supplements. What started out as natural herbs, has now grown into a trend that people use on a daily basis. These days, you can find supplements more sophisticated than ever, available in many different forms such as liquid, capsules, pills, and teas. There are some that are still home grown, although they aren’t as popular as those that are commercially supplied. For more information refer to nutritional products for more information.

In general, nutritional supplements are taken to help with diets that are missing vital nutrients and minerals. They come in many different forms as stated above, and provide one or more of vital sources such as vitamins, minerals, herbs, and amino acids. Although they aren’t intended to replace meals, nutritional supplements can be taken to enhance your diet.

There are many reasons why you should take nutritional supplements. One reason, is the environment. With the environment rapidly changing, there is more toxin in the air, in the water we drink, and the foods we eat. With our bodies having to work twice as hard to eliminate these toxins, it is always wise to take supplements and help our bodies to get rid of the harmful toxins.

Stress is also a factor on your body. Stress can put your body at risk for many different things, such as a lower resistance for diseases. Therefore, if you take supplements, you can get your immune system built back up and help your body function a lot better. There are many different nutritional supplements you can take, such as glyconutrients, that will help you combat stress. Go to nutritional products for more information.

One of the main reasons to take nutritional supplements is due to poor eating habits. Those who have busy lifestyles, sometimes don’t eat as healthy as they should. Often times, it can be very hard to take the necessary time to eat a healthy meal. Whenever we can’t get a healthy meal, we can always look towards supplements. They will enhance our diets and give us the nutrients that our bodies need for energy, health, and many other purposes.

Those of us that are athletic or exercise, will need more nourishment for the body. As you work out or play sports your body will need more nutrition. Some good examples of supplements include protein, vitamins, and minerals. You can find them in many different foods, or use vitamins and nutritional supplements that contain them.

If you are looking to lose weight, nutritional supplements may come in handy. Anytime you decide to diet, you eat much less and may end up missing on foods that contain essential vitamins and minerals. If you take some nutritional supplements on the other hand, your body won’t miss any of the important vitamins and minerals it needs. To make things even better, you can also get supplements that will help you lose weight as well, along with giving your body everything it needs to function and carry out your normal everyday routine.

No matter how you look at it, nutritional supplements are great for many things. You find them in your local GNC or nutrition store, or online. There are many different supplements to choose from, giving you everything you need to get the right nutrients and vitamins. If you’ve been looking for a way to get the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your body needs - look no further than nutritional supplements. They are available at a great price - with many excellent manufactures offering you plenty of innovative products. Visit nutritional products for more information.

Time and Money spent at the Fitness Center Shows Great Returns!

By Jack On March 28, 2009 No Comments

Spring is here and now it is time to get back into the swing of your normal exercise routine. The sun has come up and the temperatures have risen and it is nice enough to exercise outside, but for those who prefer an indoor exercise area, here are some tips on where to go and how to choose the perfect gym for you. With some help from some of the elite gyms in the country I have become very acquainted to a North Shore Personal Fitness and I can say from experience that I am deeply involved with North Shore Personal Trainer.

Any gym that you choose should have the correct equipment and/or classes for what you want to do. If you want to increase your cardio strength, a weightlifting gym may not be the best because you will, most likely, not be trying to bulk up. If you have children and you want your children to be involved in your exercise experience, you may want to choose a gym that offers classes or things to do for children. Any classes that you take should be geared towards your goal. For example, if your goal is to lose some winter weight, you may want to try a high-volume dance class or even a spin class, but I would highly recommend not taking a yoga class if your main goal in losing weight.

Your gym should offer a wide variety of classes as well as perks for your membership. You want to get your money’s worth, and if they don’t even offer sweat towels, you may ultimately decide on a different gym. Your gym should make sure that you are comfortable. It should not be too far of a drive and it most definitely should not have certain rules that make you feel like you are being watched. If you are going to be reprimanded for something at a local gym, you may want to switch to something that is more laid back. Like I have stated before, your gym should be comfortable for you.

Also, your gym should have ready and available staff for when you need them. Make sure that the staff is properly trained and that you can trust their personal fitness skills. If you cannot trust your personal trainers, then they are not doing their job correctly and you may, again, need to find a different gym that satisfies your needs.

All in all, your gym should offer a place of serenity so that working out becomes more fun than it is hassle. If your workout eventually becomes more fun, then you will gradually get used to it and your winter jeans will eventually be thrown in the garbage. Get ready to start a brand new year and find a gym that you can commit yourself to. Once this happens then you are 100% ready to begin your peregrination through a workout, strength training, or a fun time of health and fitness. Get up couch potato and get to the gym to reserve your membership today!

Dieting Made Simple - Your Guidelines

By Jack On March 28, 2009 No Comments

Most of the people think of dieting as equivalent of starving or popping diet pills. Weight loss can be achieved by pleasurable dieting too. Follow a few simple rules for healthy dieting and you have a wide choice of what you can eat to please your fancy. Healthy diet and adequate exercises are the sure and safe ways to lose weight.

Healthy diet will protect your body from illnesses by providing appropriate nutrients. At the same time you would be able to shed the excess fat gradually in a safe way by maintaining proper balance of the essential constituents; that’s the trick of natural weight loss.

There are many websites that will help you determine what should be your calorie intake, based on your personal details and based on your diet they can also tell you what your present intake is..

A Well-Balanced Diet should include nutrient rich carbohydrates, high-quality protein, and healthy fats.

Carbohydrates:
About 40-60% of your calorie intake should come from carbohydrates. That means if you’re on a 1500 calories a day diet, you should be striving to get about 800 calories a day from “good” carbs. Restrict or avoid white flour, desserts and ice creams. Cut out soda-pop and candy. They contribute to weight gain and add nothing to health. Use oatmeal or whole grain cereal instead. Include whole grain breads, fruits and vegetables, oatmeal, whole grain cereals. You will be getting sufficient vitamins, amino acids and fiber too; you will feel fuller longer.

Proteins:
About 20-30% of your calories i.e. about 375 calories should come from “wild” (not processed or farm raised) animal sources such as fish, meat, poultry, yogurt and eggs and from vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, and seeds.

Fats:
The balance calorie intake, about 325 in our example, shall come from “good” fats such as “wild” cold-water fish, flaxseed, walnuts, etc. They give Omega 3 essential fatty acid that is very essential for your overall health. Avoid or at least limit use of hydrogenated oils.

A few general comments:
Fish: Fish is low in fat, high in protein (as red meat), and provides omega 3 fatty acids which few other proteins would. Also as a general rule fish has fewer calories. Try to eat at least 2-3 servings of fish per week as replacement to meat.

Spinach: This is the cheapest source of nutrition for your body. It is rich in folic acid, minerals, and vitamins. You can prepare it in a variety of ways. Use it often in your diet.

Olive Oil: It is a “good” fat with loads of benefits to the body. This is a basic source of fat in the Mediterranean diet.

Follow these simple suggestions, and happy dieting!

How to choose the right piece of fitness equipment for your home

By Jack On March 26, 2009 No Comments

Choosing the right piece of exercise equipment for your home can be a difficult task. With the huge variety of different machines available, knowing which one (or ones) to buy can be vital in ensuring that you enjoy an in home exercise program.

There are numerous choices when deciding on the right piece of equipment for you. Treadmills, Exercise Bikes, Home Gyms, Elliptical Cross Trainers, Rowers, Steppers and a multitude of Home Gyms and Strength Equipment are usually on display at your local gym equipment shop.

Probably the most important factor is how much room you have in your home. There is no point getting a huge home gym if you live in a small unit as it will get in the way and become a nuisance. Exercise Bikes and foldable treadmills are the ideal solution if you are specially challenged.

For those who’s space isn’t an issue, the deciding factor should be what you have fun. Ask if your local retailer has a ‘try before you buy’ scheme so you can hire equipment you are interested in before committing to a purchase. Don’t be persuaded into buying an item just because it’s on special, or has lots of fancy features.

Another important consideration is the impact old injuries or your current fitness level will have on your equipment use. Many times people have taken home an expensive cross trainer, only to find it aggravates an old knee injury, or purchased a treadmill and found it’s just too hard to use for any length of time.

With so many different brands on the market, it’s hard to know what is quality and what is sub-standard. Unfortunately, the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ certainly rings true when it comes to fitness equipment. Always purchase from a reputable specialist fitness equipment retailer. Specialist fitness shops have to stand behind the product they sell, therefore will generally stock better quality equipment than larger variety stores that sell purely on price. Ensure that the equipment has a good warranty that covers parts AND labour and that service work is done in your home. There is nothing worse than trying to transport a broken treadmill that weighs 120kg back to where you purchased it!

Assess what your goals and motivations are in buying home gym equipment. Do you want to lose weight, tone up, build strength, rehabilitate an injury or just maintain a healthy level of fitness. Different pieces of fitness equipment generally work different muscle groups and will assist you in different ways. Ideally, you should be aiming for at least 20 minutes of continuous exercise per day. The more you do, the faster you will see and feel results.

In summary, get some good advise from a fitness professional or your doctor before embarking on a home fitness program. Try as many pieces of equipment as possible and go with the machine that feels comfortable and fun to use.

useful tips about Healthy Diet - God’s Word - 7 Gifts

Healthy Diet According to God’s Word

In Genesis 1:29 God said “I give you every seed - bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” This is God’s Perfect Plan for us all to have a Healthy Diet. If we follow His Word we will renew, rejuvenate and even recreate ourselves to be what we are intended to be. We know we need to eat more fruit and vegetables that will heal our bodies, our minds and our spirits. So my goal is to take a holistic healthy look at Genesis 1 and the seven things what God Says told us that leads to our healthy abundant lives.

“In the Beginning God Created the heavens and the Earth.” First we recognize the Earth. The Land which at this point is covered with Water and the creating “Spirit of The Lord”.

…Then God said, “Let there be Light”. This light represents life giving light necessary for our physical, mental and spiritual growth. There is no growth without light.

…And God called the expanse “Sky.” This represents Air. The sky or air is full of all types of gases like oxygen (what we need) and carbon (what plants need) as well as many other gases.

…And God said, “Let the Water under the Sky be gather in one place, and let the dry ground appear.” (watered ground. fertile land.)

…Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation…”. (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans and herbs)

…God made two lights in the expanse of the sky. (sun and moon = day and night = TIME)

…Then God created fish and birds.

…Then God created animals.

…Then God said “and all the that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it - I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Now that I have paraphrased the main points of the first chapter of the bible let me make sense of it.

Seven Gifts for Healthy Diet according to God’s Word.

* 1. Earth. God made the earth that was Full of His Spirit and our healthy lives depend on how we treat the earth. The earth represents the fertile ground that is our very existence. We were birthed of the earth and the Spirit of God as all things that are good for our health.
* 2. Water. Water covers the earth. We must never underestimate the importance of water to our life. Physically our bodies are mostly water. We need to drink adequate water everyday for many reasons that yield us optimal health. All the organs and systems of our body depend on adequate water to properly function. Water is also a key ingredient for a fertile earth and growth.
* 3. Light. Sun light is necessary part of our life. Not spending too much time in the harmful UV rays but the light that provide growth. Think about this interesting coincidence. The best athletes in America are Generally in “Sunshine States” like Florida, California, Texas. Sun light is the next necessary ingredient for optimal growth.
* 4. Sky. The sky represents the air we breathe. Fresh air is essential for our well being. We need oxygen for so many functions including the proper flow and efficient working of our blood system as well as our circulatory systems. Oxygen again is necessary for our growth.
* 5. Sun and Moon. These represent Time. Time is another necessary factor for growth. Earth, Water, Light, Air, in proper time and rest periods bring forth growth.
* 6. Fish, Birds, Animals that live on the earth, consuming proper fresh water (unpolluted by man), breathing fresh air (sky), with the proper light and and with the necessary time, all eating the food provided by God: (fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and beans) are all the meats that are good for our healthy diet and abundant living.
* 7. Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, Nuts and Beans are the things that God gave us as food. This is what God’s intentions are for our life. If we then choose to eat meat let it be lean meat from animals the are vegetarians as God created.

Finally, when we review the complete first chapter of the Holy Bible we noticed that the cures for today are the things that God told us back then. God told us “I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”

Will you listen to what God Says?

Hiking For Health

By Jack On March 23, 2009 No Comments

It is vital that you stay active as you get older. This way is the way to health well into old age and will generally help to extend your life.

Of course, health is vital whatever age you are and maintaining good health should be at the top of everyone’s list of priorities.

One very healthy activity that can be enjoyed by young and old alike is hiking. One of the advantages of hiking as a means of exercise is that you don’t have to be super fit to participate. Everyone with a very basic level of fitness will be able to find an easy trail to hike. You can find progressively more difficult terrain to hike over as your fitness levels increase. for more please visit Corporate fitness

Another benefit of hiking as a form of exercise is that it’s something you do outdoors so you get to breathe fresh air and look at beautiful countryside and wildlife - at least if you choose your hikes wisely.

A basic fitness need is to give yourself a good cardiovascular workout on a regular basis. Hiking will give you this. Just remember, before going hiking or, indeed, indulging in any strenuous activity that you’re not used to, you should get yourself checked out by a qualified doctor.

Before taking on a really demanding hike, make sure that you build up your endurance by tackling some easier walks - maybe just round the block a few times in your local neighborhood for starters. This will ensure that the great hike you have planned doesn’t end in bitter disappointment when you find that you’re just not up to the task. No one likes to have to bail out of something half way through because they just can’t hack it. for more please visit Corporate fitness

A worthwhile hike doesn’t have to be a jaunt to some faraway place that takes months of planning. There’s a lot of satisfaction in day hikes that can be much more spur of the moment. Without thinking too hard you can probably come up with places in your own area that would be ideal and are somewhere you’ve promised yourself for years that you’d check out.

Many people find that once they take up hiking, they really enjoy it and wish they’d started earlier.

As well as the physical benefits that hiking gives you, there are also plenty of mental benefits too. Hiking is a great stress reliever. It gives you time to yourself, time to think things through away from the pressures that are causing you to be stressed.

Go on, make yourself a promise that you’ll take your first hike in the next few days. You’ll be glad you did. for more please visit fitness

The Definitive Secret to Permanent Fat Loss and Fitness Exposed

By Jack On March 22, 2009 No Comments

The 1st secret to eternal fat loss and fitness is: create a lifestyle change with systems. Now, what am I talking about here…well, for initiator, if you’re not thinking in terms of a lifestyle change, you’re in trouble. If you’re idea of fitness is going on a diet for a little while and taking a small number of aerobics classes, you’re not going to succeed. Period. If you want to live your life in your own lean, healthy, and strong body, you require to take the steps necessary to literally change your lifestyle.

Now, a lot of people have known this before, but it’s not the fact that you have to make it a lifestyle that’s the secret…the secret part of it is how to do lose belly fat efficiently. And that starts with something most people completely miss: identifying what your lifestyle is today.

The first step is to think about your eating and work out habits as they are now and WRITE THEM DOWN on a piece of paper. What do you eat on a usual day and throughout the week? How much are you eating? How often are you working out? What kind of workouts are you doing?

You also need to observe your stress level and what are primary forces behind your stress. You also should take a look at your rest and sleep schedule. And last of all take a look at your mindset and your thoughts on how you see yourself and your lifestyle. These questions and topics will present you a snapshot of your current lifestyle…all on 1 sheet of paper for you to see and review.

After spending a few minutes jotting this fast diet data down and evaluating it once or twice, you can probably start to see just how big this whole fat loss and fitness thing really is, and why making a small impermanent change here or there (as most diets or exercise plans give you) might win a battle or two, but not the WAR you’re fighting.

There are just too numerous variables to try and control by using the bandage approach. And what I mean by that is, most people try to fix their health and fitness difficulty like someone would fix a cut or scrape with a band-aid. Your health and fitness is not a simple cut or a scrape, and it needs more than a momentary. So a lifestyle change is what is needed for a long term solution to fat loss and fitness. That is important.

Now, once you’ve established a snapshot of your current lifestyle, you need to
get going to the second step…changing your lifestyle through systems. Here’s what I mean by that:

Ask any victorious business person what is at the heart of his or her success and most of them will mention a system of some type. If you have a established and successful system, you will be successful at whatever you’re trying to accomplish. If you don’t, you’ll be lost. I washed-out years of my own life searching the fitness wasteland for methods that I could use to burn fat, build muscle, and get healthy with little time commitment.

At some point I understood that I was creating my own system for fitness success. Once I realized that, I was able to suggest this same system to my friends and family members interested in lifelong health and fitness. And guess what, it worked for those who applied. It was a established and successful system. All I did was apply it to another person. Just like in business, if you have a successful and established system, you can essentially apply the system over and over again to create new businesses. They’re all based on the same unbeaten and proven model or system.

Need to Quick Weight Loss Exercises

By Jack On March 21, 2009 No Comments

Expensive wellness programs, diet pills and gym membership are not necessary conditions associated with quick weight loss patterns. Aside from a good diet modification that would involve the reduction of caloric foods, you can perform several quick weight loss exercises to enhance your regimen of losing weight.

Most middle aged people are sedentary which has a direct impact not only on the weight but also on cardiac and circulatory health too. Because of a very busy lifestyle there is little time left for activities that would burn down fat, therefore you have to be inventive and come up with something adequate. Some quick weight loss exercise moves when added to your daily regimen will help you achieve your goals of staying trim and in shape.

One of the most important places to begin when starting a quick weight loss exercise program is the night before. One cannot work out effectively without good night rest for instance. The physical activity will not function to your benefit if you feel too tired to accomplish your quick weight loss exercise plan. Start by going to bed early enough, so that the body is prepared to allow intense training.

Write down the details of the quick weight loss exercise routine you would like to create, and write those exercises with the amount of time you spend on each one. Every week, review your journal and attempt to increase the amount of time you spend on each quick weight loss exercise. For example, in the first week, you may wish to take a brisk 15 minute walk every day, in the second week increase this to 20 minutes and so on until you reach a climax that you are comfortable with.

Effective quick weight loss exercises that have a high calorie burning value are brisk walks (particularly if you swing the arms for an extra calorie consume), running and jumping jacks. If there is space enough, outdoor activities such as handball or basketball are also excellent quick weight loss exercise solutions that will get burn more fat at an increased heart rate. Climb up and down the stairs if you don’t feel comfortable to exercise outside and you’ll still burn calories.

In addition to your quick weight loss exercise program, you must make sure you are modifying your diet. Usually after a strenuous workout, you may feel a craving to eat right away to replenish the burnt calories. On such cases, stick to vegetables and fruits instead of going for the much longed for carbs.

Helpful Secrets About Facial Skin Care

By Jack On March 20, 2009 No Comments

Faulty diet — Refined foods like white flour, sugar and products made with them, tea, coffee, and soft drinks deplete energy, bring about wrinkles, unattractive skin and premature aging. For more Skin Care click here

Lack of healthy blood — Healthy blood adds a glow to the skin and keeps it well-nourished, moist, and free from dryness and roughness.

Inadequate cleansing — Very often, our skin looks superficially clean; but they really are not. Dirt and dust particles can hide in the pores of the skin and clog sweat and sebaceous glands. Proper cleansing not only removes all the dust, dirt and make-up, which accumulate during the day, but also stops the oil-secreting sebaceous glands from getting clogged

Diet — plays an important role in maintaining the health of the skin. Diet should supply all the nutrients needed to build health, namely, protein, carbohydrates, fats, essential fatty acids and all the essential vitamins and minerals. Such a diet will consist of liberal quantities of seeds, nuts and grains, vegetables and fruits, supplemented by special protective foods like milk, vegetable oils, yogurt, honey and yeast. Herbal skin care

Herbal skin care is often pooh-poohed by most people, but the truth is, herbal skin care has been used since ancient times. This was used by the ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago. Today, most beauty products contain harmful chemicals that can cause damage to the skin more than you can ever imagine. Herbal and organic products prove to be more safe and gentle on the skin. Herbal skin care products that have the essential oils, shea butter, aloe vera extracts etc which help to nourish the skin and give it a natural glow are most preferred by women. You must also be aware to go in for reputed brands. Most herbal skin care products may not really be herbal in nature. These only have a gentle scent or a splash of such oils to make it seem ‘herbal’. Genuine herbal skin care products are also of the higher end. So, how does one incorporate herbal skin care into the daily routine for youthful and glowing skin? Read on to know more about herbal skin care tips you can try at home.

Herbal Skin Care Tips:

Herbal skin care scrub-

Here is a way to make a natural scrub at home. What you will need is

• Rolled oats (1 part)
• Dried rose petals (1 part)
• Cornmeal (1 part)
• Sea salt (1 part)
• Facial clay (2 parts)
• Dried lavender (1 part)
• Rosemary essential oil
• Warm water or aloe Vera juice/extract

Grind the lavender, rose petals and the oats in a food processor. You need to mix all the dry ingredients together with this and store it in an airtight jar. Use this preferably at night, after you have finished all your chores. Take a small spoonful of the scrub and mix it in the palm of one hand. Add a drop of the rosemary essential oil to this. Mix into a paste, either in warm water or Aloe Vera juice; whatever proves to be more convenient. Gently wet your face with warm water and scrub your skin in a circular motion (with your fingertips) with this paste. Keep it for a few minutes for better results and rinse with warm water.

Need some natural moisturizer for your skin? You can opt for unrefined coconut oil, but this may not suit dry skin. Aloe Vera is a better option and it can be grown at home as well. Aloe Vera is one of the most used and highly beneficial herbs for skin care. Gently cut a portion of the leaf or you can use the entire segment and set it aside for future use. Cut it open and scrape the gel. Use this on your skin. Smooth it out and leave it for few minutes. This also works well for hair as a great natural homemade conditioner.
